Join Trippas White Group at Australian War Memorial and take a hands-on role in delivering quality food, supporting the kitchen team and keeping service running smoothly.

This opportunity suits an experienced Sous Chef or a strong Chef de Partie ready to take the next step. You’ll work closely with the Executive Chef, contribute ideas and lead by example in a busy kitchen.

The Role:

• Support the Executive Chef with daily kitchen operations, preparation and service.
• Maintain consistent standards of food quality, presentation and portion control.
• Lead, train and support chefs, apprentices and kitchen staff.
• Assist with menu development, ordering, stock control and waste reduction.
• Maintain food safety, hygiene and workplace safety standards.
• Take responsibility for the kitchen in the Executive Chef’s absence.
• Work closely with front-of-house and events teams to deliver a smooth guest experience.

About You:

• Relevant commercial cookery qualifications.
• Experience as a Sous Chef or senior Chef de Partie.
• Strong cooking skills and pride in the food you produce.
• A calm, organised approach during busy service.
• Clear communication and a practical, supportive leadership style.
• Sound knowledge of food safety, dietary requirements and allergen management.
• An understanding of food costs, stock management and kitchen efficiency.
• Australian working rights and availability to meet the venue’s roster requirements.
