Position Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to support the daily food service operations within a school environment. This role involves assisting with meal preparation, service to students and staff, and occasional catering for school events, while maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with preparation and serving of meals for students, staff, and boarders
- Support catering for school functions, events, and themed meals
- Set up and pack down dining areas, ensuring a clean and welcoming environment
- Deliver food and beverages across campus as required
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, equipment, and dining areas in line with food safety standards
- Follow all school policies, including health, safety, and child-safe practices
- Assist with stock control, storage, and rotation of food supplies
- Work collaboratively with kitchen and boarding staff
Essential Requirements:
- Valid full NSW Driver’s Licence (mandatory)
- Availability to work weekends and flexible hours (including early mornings and evenings)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle manual tasks
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
- Ability to work in a child-safe environment and comply with school policies
Desirable:
- Previous experience in a school, boarding, or large-scale catering environment
- RSA or willingness to obtain
- Working With Children Check (WWCC) or willingness to obtain
