Barista – Boarding School Café
We are looking for a friendly, experienced and
enthusiastic Barista to join our café team within a busy boarding school
environment. This role is perfect for someone who loves making great
coffee, takes pride in presentation and enjoys creating a welcoming experience
for students, staff and visitors.
About the Role
Your main responsibility will be preparing and serving
high-quality coffee and beverages while ensuring the café front is always
beautifully presented, clean and inviting. You will also be responsible for displaying and
replenishing cakes, slices, muffins and other café items, making sure
everything looks fresh, appealing and ready for service.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve consistently high-quality coffee and beverages
- Provide friendly and professional customer service
- Maintain a clean, organised and welcoming café environment
- Present cakes, slices, muffins and other items beautifully
- Replenish stock and keep displays looking fresh throughout the day
- Operate the till and process customer transactions
- Assist with general café duties, cleaning and restocking
- Follow food safety, hygiene and allergen procedures
- Work collaboratively with the wider catering team
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous barista experience and is confident working independently
- Makes consistently great coffee
- Has excellent attention to detail and takes pride in presentation
- Is friendly, reliable and well organised
- Enjoys working in a school and customer-focused environment
- Can remain calm and efficient during busy service periods
- Has a strong understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements
- Holds, or is willing to obtain, a current Working with Children Check
